Elias was a Revolutionary Soldier, according to the History of KY, Vol I, pp 139, by Battle, Perrin, Kniffin
Elias Lovelace, founder of the town of Lovelaceville,KY About 1775 the family moved to Rowan Co. NC. Elias married Anne Robey and moved in 1798 to Butler Co. KY. They moved in 1824 to McCracken Co. He died in Lovelacevile in 1834. Children: Andrew, Archibald, Elizabeth, John, Ann, Verlinda, Emily, Isaac and Cassandra.
Andrew married Rebecca Holman. Children: Elizabeth, Nancy, Elias, Archibald, Andrew, Jr., Rebecca and William H.. Andrew, Jr. married Eleanor Green Ashley and had 10 children.

In May 1776, Elias volunteered as an Indian Spy for 3 months under Capt. Samuel Reese, and in 1779, volunteered for 5 months under Capt. Nicholas. In 1798 he moved to Butler Co., Kentucky and later to McCracken Co. Kentucky. He applied for a pension on May 11, 1833 and died December 23, 1834. His widow applied for a pension (WD143) on June 2, 1840, aged 83.
