My paternal ancestors lived in the Randolph Co., Arkansas/Ripley County, Missouri area and then moved on to Madison and St. Francois Co., MO, with some of the family migrating north to Michigan in the early 1900's. They were farmers, merchants, miners and preachers and some reportedly part of the famous outlaw Dalton Gang. Many Dalton descendants still reside in Missouri, Arkansas, and Texas. My grandparents were both born in Madison Co., in Bollinger and Mine LaMotte.My maternal ancestors came from the Dickson Co., Tennessee area, moving first to Fisher Co., Texas in 1908, then up to the panhandle area near Amarillo and eventually they also migrated north to Michigan in the early 1900's. They were mostly farmers and miners.My grandparents were born and raised in Woods Valley, Dickson Co., TN. Many of their family members are buried in the Slayden and Coleman Cemeteries in Dickson County, TN.
