Catherine Avery (Simeon, Ebenezer?, James, James, Christopher) was b. Sept. 24, 1761, at Groton; m. Dec. 9, 1779, at Preston, Elisha Witter, a. of William and Hannah (Freeman) Witter. He was b. April 27, 1755, at Preston; d. about 1783, leaving no children, His widow m. 2d, Jan. 18, 1785, Sluman Lathrop, s. of Capt. Elisha and Hannah (Hough) Lathrop. He was b. Sept. 25, 1750, at Norwich. They lived at Lebanon, N. H., where he d. Dec. 4, 1884; she d. March 17, 1846.
