Text: Elizabeth Kenner was the daughter of Howson Kenner (1711 - 1778)and Margaret Eskridge (abt 1715 - abt 1782). She married JamesSeaton after the death of his first wife, Frances Farmer.
Other children: Margaret (Peggy) Seaton, died 14 Jan 1779;Samuel Seaton (no record except his mention in James Seaton,Jr.'s will); Mary Rebecca Seaton (died 1846, Greene County, PA)m. Samuel Hyde in Greene County, PA.
Another possible child is Howson Eskridge Seaton. On 27 Sep1756, a deed of gift from James Seaton, Jr. to his son HowsonEskridge Seaton was recorded in Prince William County, Virginia.Howson Kenner Bonum Seaton was born about six years later. IfHowson Eskridge was James' son, he must have been a young boy in1756 so it would have been unusual to deed land under thosecircumstances.
Betty Seaton is mentioned in King William County records about1760, as is Augustine Seaton.
In the 1782 List of Owners of Slaves in Washington County,Pennsylvania, "Mrs. Seaton" is shown as the owner of 6 slaves. The National Genealogical Society Quarterly, Volumes 59 page 23.
Betty Seaton, Francis Seaton, George Seaton and James Seaton arelisted in the 1788 Cumberland Township Tax List for WashingtonCounty, Pennsylvania.
((U.S. Genweb Archives, contributed by mburns@tea-house.com, athtp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/pa/washington/taxlist/1788tl01.txt))
Betty Seaton is listed in the first U.S. Census of 1790 forWashington County, Pennsylvania. She is not mentioned in anysubsequent census, so she must have died prior to 1800.
