Individual:
Ebenezer Roberts was wounded in battle during the Revolutionary War and was afterward granted a pension by the government.
He was a native of Maine and removed with his family to Dearborn county, IN. There he made a home in the wilderness. His son, Arthur P. Roberts, was born in Maine, in 1812, and was reared in the Hoosier state, where he married Mary B. Freeman, a native of Indiana. By trade, Mr. Roberts (Simeon E., son of Arthur) was a blacksmith, as was his father.
"Ebenezer Roberts was a soldier in the War of 1812. He was a pioneer of the family in Indiana, owning a farm in Dearborn County. He moved to Henderson County, IL, then later accompanied his son Arthur Plummer Roberts to Rock Island County, IL. During his early life, Ebenezer was a blacksmith"
