She came to America on the "Swan" August 1610. She was 9 or 10 atthe
time.
Her husband, Mr. Jordan, died March 1623. They had three childrenall of
whom
were born in America: Mary Jordan, 3, Margrett Jordan, 1, and Temperance
Baley, 7.
It is said that the preacher who preached Mr. Jordan's funeral wooed Mrs.
Jordan and she promised to marry him but the preacher bragged about it too
soon and she refused to him marry and the preacher filed the first breach
of
promise suit in America.
