Individual:
Member of Auxiliary Police, Long Beach, California from 10-22-1942 until end of war
Subj: Inquiry to West Point concerning Buchholtz
Date: 6/30/00 12:05:40 PM Pacific Daylight Time
From: ns6736@exmail.usma.army.mil (Grove, S. DR OPA)
To: Mannesah@aol.com
CC: ym6221@exmail.usma.army.mil (Tesoriero, M. MS PAO)
Our information on Buchholtz was very thin. We did not find an association
with the band. Nearly all of our information came from his wedding. We were
able to find some basic information as follows:
He was married on September 27, 1915 at the age of 40. He married Alice
Jeanneret, age 29. His parent's names were: Carl Buchholtz and Elizabeth
Jaru from Germany. Her parent's names were: Otto Jeanneret and Rachel
Maillardt from Switzerland.
The witnesses were: August Millen and R.W. Millen
The clergyman was Horace Percy Silver, the USMA Chaplain from 1913-18
The place was the residence of Dr. Kaufman
We have been able to find no information about any West Point connection for
any of the individuals other than the chaplain.
You might try Census returns for 1910 to see if you can identify any of
these people but it's going to be a tough job.
The other thing you should do, since you do have some basic information, is
to contact the National Personnel Records Center (Military)
9700 Page Avenue
St. Louis, Missouri 63132-5100
I'm sorry that we have been unable to provide any more information but hope
that we have advanced your search.
Best wishes from West Point for success in your research.
Sincerely,
Dr. Steve Grove
