Individual:
Buried St. John's Lutheran Cemetary in Leader, Sask., Canada.Karl and his son Ernst donated the land for the cemetary andchurch. The following is a translation of a short autobiography writtenin German in the family bible (now in the possession of mysister Dawn Elizabeth Larsen, San Leandro, CA) by Karl Wenze l.Translation notes are included in parenthesis:"I, Karl, was born in the year one thousand eight hundred andthirtyfive, on the 11th of October in the governmental districtof Danzig, Elbing County, baptised on the 18th of the same monthin the church chappel (sic) Grosmansdorf (might beGrosinausdorf). In the year 1846, my parents moved to Russiainto a government base (might be translated as "compond" (sic)inconnection with an army base). In the year 1848 they moved toRatur in the Polish Foreign Service where they both died, fatherabout ten years before mother. They both rest in theBlumentaller Cemetary. In the year 1860 I entered into the stateof engagement (I think this is right, sometimes it meansmatrimony) and was married the 11th of October in the Colony ofBlumenthal by Pastor Father Schultz to Susanna Langholf (sic)with whom I spent my days there until the year 1899. Then Itraveled (emigrated) to America with those that were still withme and settled in North Dakota. Written in the year 1902."Source: Linda Parke Lparke8569@aol.com
