Notes
Individual:
There has been a conflict as to the matter if the middle initial
truely stood for "Calvin", or if it was assumed to have been "Calvin"because it rymes with the middle name of his youngest son, Jesse, who's middle name is "Alvin". Recently recovered Obituary noticedprinted from the January 1, 1930 edition of The Wenatchee World, aswell as the desk records of funeral arrangements from Jones & JonesFuneral Home, confirm that his full name is indeed "David CalvinBlocher", and the informant is listed to be Florence (Brown) Blocher, his widow. It is now believed that David Calvin Blocher was the onlyone of thirteen siblings that was given a middle name, but it ispossible that the other siblings may have middle names as well, buthave been forgotten after the passing generations.

Not a lot is certain about his history, but it is known that he was blind in his last years of living, but occasionally get a short blastof sight. According to Doris A. (Blocher) Hadler, he was once sittingon the front porch of his house and said "There goes the dog!" as hisdog was running off; and on another occasion he said "That's Anna'shand!" as his sister in-law, Anna (Brubaker) Blocher was reachingacross him.

He may have worked as a delivery person for Wells & Wade along with his son, Jesse, but at the moment it is not clear.
It is believed that he died from Brain Cancer, for it is known that he
was blinded in his last years of living. There is a possibility thathe may have had diabeties as well, and was at the final stages.

Marriage:
David Calvin Blocher (sitting) with sons Edward (right) and Jesse
(left). Picture taken in approximately 1910 presumely in Wenatchee,Washington.Joseph, David, and John (left to right). Picture is presumingly taken
in 1928 or 1929, most likely the last gathering of the three remainlybrother prior to David's death on New Years Day of 1930.It is uncertin if David Calvin & Nettie (Carpenter) Blocher had any
children together.David Calvin Blocher and Florence (Parsons) Brown were wedded at the

residence of Amos Benjamin & Barbara (Blocher) Peteres, the brotherin-law
& sister of David Calvin Blocher.
