Phinehas Spencer received letter in 1760 from 1st CongregationalChurch at Haddam, CT.They, of Haddam, sold 11 June 1735 land set to Martha from theestate of her father, Timothy Ste(e)vens, dec'd; and they sold 5Feb 1745/6, the deed being witnessed by Joel Spencer (hisnephew, the son of John, which see).Martha Spencer, "now of Haddam," wife of Phineas of Haddam anddaughter of Timothy Ste(e)vens of Killingworth dec'd, gave adeed 14 Dec 1755. [Killingworth Deeds, 5:166; 7:198; 8:553.]Phinehas seems to have sold his Haddam homestead in 1750 [HaddamDeeds,4:101], and shortly removed to Spencertown, NY.
