Notes
Individual:
This link to Joseph is speculative, based. . . for now on theremarks of Pat Worden re: Joseph . . . as follows:I believe you are correct in the connection you have made toJoseph Worden in the 1830 census in Maryland Oswego Co. BothJane and Esther would fit in the census counts we have forJoseph.Other census for this Joseph are;1800 Middletown Delaware Co -Joseph Worden - males _ _ _ 1 _females 2_1_ _1810 Kortright Delaware Co - Joseph Worden - males-2_1 1 _females 3 1 _ 1_1820 Kortright Delaware Co _ Joseph Worden - males _2_ _ _ 1females - 2 1 1 1 _ We do not find him in 1840 and he may have died. This Joseph's line is unproven but is speculated to be ThomasII and wife Hannah, Thomas I and Hopestill, Amos, Isaac, DrSamuel, Peter II, Peter I. Thomas II is known to have hadchildren Amariah and Zephaniah who show up in the census livingin the same general area as Joseph over a long span of years.http://www.dcnyhistory.org/jurylist.htmlList of Qualified Jurors - 1798-1800 Delaware County New YorkAfter Delaware County was erected in 1797, from parts of theCounties of Ulster and Otsego, a separate Court System had to beestablished for it. Jurors, qualified to serve in those courts, were selected from Lists prepared by the Supervisor andAssessors of each respective Town in the County. These Listswere forwarded to the County Clerk and Jury panels were selectedfrom them. Juror Lists were made up of white male U.S. citizens, who were21 years old but not 60, and who owned (or in Delaware Countycould also be on land held under lease) of a set value above anymortgage, or other lien thereon. The Juror had to be a residentof the Town for which he was selected a Juror. Jurors became"Incompetent due to incompetency, death, criminality or movingfrom the Town. The List that follows, is for the period before and for theperiod of 1798 through 1800, which was the first Federal Censusafter the erection of Delaware County. Many Lists from whichthis was compiled are missing and some Towns included area whichlater became separate Towns. At the end of this first list is alisting of the Town Officials. see also:http://nichirenscoffeehouse.net/gen/d0000/g0000056.htm#I04474
