Individual:
He settled in Spencertown, Columbia, NY. The names of bothSamuel and Samuel, Jr., appear in the 8th Regt., Albany CountyMilitia (Columbia was not yet set off from Albany) in theRevolutionary War. They are not listed there in the 1790 Census, but at Rensselaerwick, Albany Co. [Columbia Co. had not yet beenset off from Albany Co.], one Samuel is listed with two malesunder 16 and three females, while another Samuel had a femaleand a boy. As we know from the application for bounty land ofthe widow of Samuel, Jr., that the latter married in 1789, hewould have had a wifeand perhaps one child in 1790.
