My mother's parents were married in the Gaspé area of Quebec in 1907 and started heading west. Eventually they ended up in North Vancouver B.C.
Abraham's mother was of Irish descent. On his father's side many ancestors were among the very first European residents of Acadia. 50 of them are in the 1671 Census. Others were among the first European residents of Quebec, arriving there in the 1600s.
One of Abrahams ancestors was Charles Belliveau a descendant of Antoine, the first Belliveau in North America. Another Acadian ancestor was Michelle Aucoin, granddaughter of Martin Aucoin (born in France in 1570). Another two were Jean Thériot and his wife Perrine Rau (Jehan Terriot and Perrine Brault). The home of ancestors Charles Melancon and Marie Dugas is a National Historic Site of Canada. Another Belliveau descendant is Anne Murray
Bridget was born in the Gaspé. Her ancestors all appear to be Irish except for Elizabeth Element who was English. Maurice Hurley and Elizabeth Element were two of the first settlers of Douglastown Quebec .
