Morgan was a veteran of WWI serving in France. He earned hisMasters degree from Columbia University, New York City. Hebecame principal of the Forest City, NC Grammar Schoo. Hehelped establish the Isothermal Junior College in Forest City.The Morgan Cooper Scholarship was established there in hishonor.
