George D. Travis joined the Kentucky Cavalry, 17 Regiment, Company D on the
24th of August 1864. He served for 1 year as a Saddler for Capt. James N. Liles.
His discharge papers were dated 1867.

was 36 years of age and single from Livingston,Crittenden Co. Ky. Planning to marry Mary. E. Elder age 19, born in Caldwell Co. Ky, single on June 6, 1860.
Hand written note signed by J. Hawthorne that he had married them on June 6, 1860.
