Terry Turner

Wally dropped out of high school by his sophomore year to work on various farms for money during the Great Depression of 1929. He also spent a few years with the Civil Conservation Corps in Kentucky where he met his first wife Nina Tibbetts. After getting married, he opened a general store in Wisconsin until they moved to Arizona in 1937. During World War II, Wally was a supervisor at the Goodyear Aircraft Corporation building airplanes for the war effort. After the war, Wally worked as a air conditioning mechanic at Westward Pontiac in Phoenix for over 26 years until his retirement in 1985. During this time he was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. It was in this club that he met his second wife Doris Williamson and later married her in August of 1962. In 1970-71 they became the first husband-wife State Presidents of the Eagles club.

Wally Turner is buried next to his second wife Doris Cunningham Turner at Resthaven Park Cemetery in Glendale, Arizona.
