I am researching the GAREAU surname some times known as GAREAU dit SAINTONGE I am specifically looking for a Joseph GAREAU,and at this time I have no parental, birth or marriage information for him other than he was born cir 1823/25. I do have a wife and children for him. The first born in Curran, Prescott Co Ontario, 4 born in St Jerome, Terrebonne Co Quebec, then back to Curran for the last that I have been able to find. The Gareau migrate to Ogdensburg, St Lawrence County about mid 1860s with some of their children. This is where they spend their final years.
