Obituary for Ethel Gardner from "The Terre Haute Tribune-Star", Terre Haute, Indiana Tuesday, June 22, 1993:
BRAZIL - Ethel L. Gardner, 84, of Noblesville died Monday, June 21, 1993, at 12:03 p.m. in Riverview Hospital at Noblesville. She was a homemaker. She was born Aug. 14, 1908, in Brazil to Thomas Nicholson and Irene Dugger Nicholson. Survivors include her husband, Harry A. Gardner, one daughter, Linda Branum of Noblesville; and three grandchildren. She was a member of Maple Avenue Methodist Church, Noblesville Senior Citizens, White Shrine, past worthy high priestess and past matron of Order of Eastern Star at Twelve Point1. Services are 10 a.m. Thursday in Thomas Funeral Home at Terre Haute, with Rev. Stanley Howell officiating. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park at North Terre Haute. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with memorial services by Order of Eastern Star at 7:30.

He was born Mar. 23, 1906 in West Union, Illinois and his occupation is listed as "Freight handler". His father is Adam Gardner, deceased and his mother is Louisa Martin of West York, Illinois.
