Anne Cavendish of London. His mother m2. Charles Lord Baltimore.
(1) Lady Baltimore left to her son Col. Nicholas Sewall a large brick mansion
"Mattapany." Gov. Calvert had erected a fort there, and where he surrendered
to Capt. John Coode in 1689. The house and property of the proprietary were
confiscated, but came back to the possession of the Sewalls in 1722 by a
grant of the second Charles Lord Baltimore to Nicholas Sewall, son of the
original proprietor, and so remained until the 1900s.
