Individual:
Thrina was born at 2828 West 56th Street in Ballard, WA in a Barn that was used as a house.
When Thrina was nine years old her father gave her a piano for her birthday. When she was 10 years old her father died. Her mother took employment as a piano teacher. Her mother may have remarried and Thrina told of taking the foot ferry from Seattle to Poulsbo and then walking to Bangor. The family lived for a short time in Bangor and Thrina and Allen went to school at the Bangor School. The man Elizabeth married was abusive and it is believed she divorced him and moved in with her sister Helen Rouse Lake in Bremerton, WA. When the family moved to Bangor, a neighbor took Thrina's piano since they could not take it with them. Several years later when the family moved back to the Seattle area, those same people returned it to Thrina and thanked her for the use of it. The piano is currently in the possession of Linda Leary Plautz her grand daughter.
The camphor wood hope chest that is now in the possession of Pam Leary Wilson belonged to Elizabeth Rouse Martin and made the trip to Bangor and all the following moves that the family made in the years after Lee Martin died.Thrina Martin and Conrad Klein divorced Abt 1935 in Seattle, King County, WA.
