THOMAS DRONE IS KILLED ON HIGHWAY (US Hwy #2)
Thomas J. Drone of Grand Rapids, well known in Rossburg and Aitkin lost
his life in an automobile accident Saturday night near Cohasset. He and
Mrs. Drone were riding in a car with Ted Odell 35 of Grand Rapids, when a
tire blew out throwing the machine in a ditch after overturning. Both
Drone and Odell were killed, Mrs. Drone was stunned and bruised, but was
able to leave the Grand Rapids hospital a few days later.
Mr. Drone was born near Rossburg Jan. 4, 1902, a son of Mr. & Mrs. T. J.
Drone, pioneers of Aitkin County. He grew to manhood there and married
Gladys Aldrich. They moved to Detroit, Michigan where they spent 5 years.
