J.R.M. DuBerry comr Deed to J.R. Blount guardian file in this office for record De. 24th 1866, W.(?S) Hudson, clerk.

This deed from J.R.M. DuBerry commissioner in Chancery to John R. Blount Guardian for Nancy Roane, John Roane and James Roane minor heirs of James R. Roane dec'd all of Calhoun County & State of Mississippi made on this the 24th day of December 18___. witnesseth: That whereas at the former _____ of the Chancery Court for Calhoun County at Pittsboro sitting by its decree of the 15th day of September A.D. 1866 in a certain __________ therein pending between John R. Blount Guardian of the Minor heirs of J.R. Roane dec'd Plaintiff and Herrod Seals and C.E. Murphree Adm'rs of J.M. Seals dec'd, Defts did appoint the said J.R.M. DuBerry its commissioner with ______ and direction to advertise and sell as ________ted the SW fraction of the SE quarter of section 27 township 11 of range two west containing 100 acres. And whereas the said J.R.M. DuBerry in pursuance of said decree did duly advertise the same and the day & place of sale and on the 24th day of December A.D. 1866 in front of the Court House door in the Town of Pittsboro, County of Calhoun & State of Miss. And within the hours prescribed by law did expose to public sale the lands aforesaid and at such sale the said John R. Blount Guardian as aforesaid became the highest last & best bidder and purchaser of the said lands above described for the sum of $500. Therefore the said J.R.M. DuBerry as such Commissioner in consideration of the premises doth hereby alien & convey to the said John R. Blount Guardian as aforesaid the lands so purchased by him to have & to hold the said lands hereby intended to be conveyed with the appurtenances to the said John R. Blount Guardian aforesaid in perfect right as such, free from ________ against the right title claim or demand of said Herrod Seals & C.E. Murphree Admi[r ass aforesaid and their heirs & all other persons so fair as the said J.R.M. DuBerry as such commissioner by virtue of the proceedings aforesaid and the laws of the land can or ought to alien and convey __________ in no other degree.

And he here puts his hand and seal on (?this the ) 24th day of December 1866. J.R.M. DuBerry, Commissioner (seal)
