Swampscott Teacher Stricken in Boston
Ernest E. Anthony, 47, of 22 Banks terrace, Swampscott, a commercial artist who has been a teacher at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, died suddenly yesterday of a heart attack while walking on Mount Vernon street, Boston.
He asked Robert Ward of 108 Mount Vernon street to call a taxicab for him, explaining that he felt ill. When Ward returned after telephoning from his house, he found Anthony lying on the sidewalk. The Swampscott man was dead on arrival at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Mr. Anthony was born in Providence and was graduated from the Rhode Island State School of Design. He served in the army in the World War and was a member of Leon E. Abbott Post, American Legion, of Swampscott. He had been employed for 25 years by the Forbes Lithograph Company, had done work for several Boston publishing firms, and was a free lance artist and designer in recent years.
He leaves his widow, Mrs. Josephine Anthony, two sons, David L., and Stephen R., both of Swampscott, and a sister, Mrs. Ralph Chase, of West Falmouth.
Funeral services will be at the Lee and Moody Funeral Home, 9 Dane street, Beverly, Saturday at 2 P.M. Burial will be at Waterside cemetary, Marblehead.Teacher of art at Boston Museum of Fine Arts
