Individual:
Problems with Martha and Hattie Scott. I show both of them were married to Nathaniel Craig and are born 1 year apart.[joereidscott.FTW]

Samuel was born in Williamsburg, SC in 1763 and was a member of Gen. Francis Marion's Brigade of irregulars that led Gen Tarleton on such a long and costly chase during the Revolutionary War that gave Marion the nickname "the Swamp Fox". On Jan 18, 1786 Samuel married Sarah Matthews and in 1807 the family moved to the newly organized Maury County, Tennessee. The couple produced 12 children. At least 9 of the children crossed the mountains with their parents. Several are buried near their parents in the Matthews Cemetery, Maury Co., TN. Samuel and Sarah were charter members of the Hopewell Reformed Presbyterian Church. " Maury County Tennessee Cemeteries" Vol. 2, Page 598 by Fred Lee Hawkins, Jr.[Karen Scott file.FTW]

Samuel son of immigrant John Scott. Samuel was first of our line to come to Tennessee around 1808, from York CO., S.C. He was a Revolutionary War Pvt. under Francis Marion and is buried in the Matthews Cemetery.
