(2) 1850 Anderson County,Texas Census(page 197)---- living in home of John and Mary Hollis.The neighboring family was Harvey and Mary Hollis.Both of these families moved to Erath County before 1860.There are several marriages between Robersons and Hollises.It would appear that Newt moved from Tippah County,Mississippi with these Hollis families when they moved to Anderson County ca.1848. Pvt. Matthew N. Roberson - Enlisted with Co. K, 10th Texas Infantry, at Erath
County, Texas, on February 1, 1862 by 2Lt. Albert Green. He was captured at
Arkansas Post, Arkansas, on January 11, 1863, and paroled from Camp Douglas
Prison on April 1, arriving at City Point, Virginia for exchange, on April 7,
1863.
Pvt. Roberson was present at all Company Musters until he was captured at
Franklin, Tennessee, on November 30, 1864, and sent to Camp Douglas Prison
for a second time; arriving there on December 6, 1864. Pvt. Roberson was
discharged from prison on June 18, 1865, to go home.
