BIOGRAPHY:
From the June 24, 1870 census of Washington County, Waterford Township, Beverly City, Post Of fice of Lowell, Ohio, Justin Steel Randolph and family were living or boarding in the household of Dorcas Fletcher.
The 1880 census gives age as 16, working on the farm.
According to the 1910 Census of Campbell, a fourth class city, Ulysses Grant Randolph and fam ily resided in their own house, which was free and clear.
His occupation as of April 30, 1910 was a Brick Mason.
Ulysses and Fannie Pitts had 12 children.
He professed faith in Christ 1893 and united with First Baptist Church of West Plains, MO. A fter which moving his membership to the First Baptist Church of Campbell, MO., he was ordained to the full work of the Gospel Ministry on August 29, 1909. He died a member of the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church of East Piggott, Ark.
Poetry was a hobbie of his.
Many, many years ago,
On the side of a JudeaHill
Shepards were watching their little flocks
And all was quiet and still.
Perhaps they talked of by gone days
And perhaps they were half alseep
Or listening to the rippling water fall
Or the bleating of the sheep.
The stars were shining in the sky
And an angel did appear,
Brighter than the shining sun.
And their hearts were filled with fear.
"Fear not, fear not ye shephards bold,
Unto you is born a King
In the City of David, Bethelehem."
They heard the angels sing.
And suddenly there did appear
In the calm and holy night,
A multitude, a heavenly host,
All robed in spotless white.
They sang a song, it was so sweet,
"Peace on earth, good will to men,
This is the bright and morning star,
The Star of Bethlehem."
