Individual:
B75- Jacobus Lentz was born 26 Oct 1809 in Rowan Co., NC.
Sponsor at baptism at Old Organ Church on 20 Jan 1810 was his uncleWilliam Sifford, who married B3- Elizabeth Lentz. Jacobus's full namemay have been John Jacob Lentz. However, no positive identificationsor other connections to a family have been found, and it is believedthat he died early, probably as a young man, or left home early to gowest or other adventure.
The 1830 census of Cabarrus Co., shows the family of B7- Jacob Lentz with a son age 20-30, which could be this Jacobus, age 21. Alsoa son age 15-20, who could be David, age 16. Also a son age 10-15,who could be Adam, age 11.
Jacobus must have lived past 21, and either died or left home before the 1840 census of Iredell Co. where he does not show.
B7- Jacob Lentz was quite active in building the St. Paul's Lutheran Church south of Statesville in Iredell Co., finished in 1840.All of his sons made a pledge and were credited with work on thechurch except Jacobus. The family moved to Iredell in 1836. No JacobLentz shows on the 1840 census for Cabarrus or Rowan Counties. Therefore, he did not remain in either of them.
He died or went on an adventure to the west by 1835, probably, at age about 26 years.Source states: "Born Oct 26, 1809, Jacobus (Lentz), baptized 20 Jan
1810, parent Jacob Lenz, sponsor, Will Siffert." Will Siffert was his
uncle (married B3- Elizabeth Lentz, according to Organ Church records.
Please see source entry for birth. The information is the same.
