Gill Sarah A (widow Saml) roomer 311 Locust
-------------------------------------------------------
CLEARFIELD PROGRESS, Clearfield, PA, March 4, 1935
Mrs. Sarah A. Gill
Mrs. Sarah A. Gill, whose death occurred recently, was the fifth child of a family of 11 children. Her parents were Daniel and Elizabeth Logan Smeal of Boggs Township. In 1880 she was united in marriage to Samuel Gill of Bradford Township, who died eight years later leaving Mrs. Gill with three children. One still survives, Wyatt, and two died in early manhood.
The death of Mrs. Gill removes from this section a woman who was courageous and self reliant. When a girl of 16 she united with the church and all her life has been a faithful one to her Lord as well as her family and large circle of friends.
In addition to the one son, two brothers also survive, George W. Smeal of Philipsburg and Collins Smeal of West Decatur. Funeral services were held at the home of the son, Wyatt, in Clearfield on Wednesday afternoon, February 27, at 1:30 o'clock in charge of her pastor, Rev. H. O. Gotshall of Woodland, assisted by Rev. C. A. Sauter of this place. Interment in Bigler Cemetery. The deceased was a member of Dales Methodist Church.
