Notes 
Individual:
In 1942 Professor Jim Brown researched the folks of Eastern Ky and spent time with the Bishops on Newfound, staying with Monroe Bishop. He apparently was very fond of Monroe because he referred to him as "Uncle" in his notes. A picture of Monroe and wife at home is shown in Kelly Morgan's Pioneer History of Clay Co, page 209.
