Individual:
Elisha Bishop was a major land owner in the Newfound area with upwards of 700 acres. According to Mary Philpot, a great grandaughter this Bishop family produced several teachers but which? Professor Jim Brown the researcher who interviewed the older Bishops in 1942 said Elisha died 12 years after marrying Esther Hunt and that he had no children by her.
