l about 1850. Married Alfonso Crowder and they settled ¦ in Hopkins County, Texas, he died during the early 1850s, she then married Volney Constantine Rattan. He was bom in Green County, Illinois, came to Texas with his parents Hiram and Leah Shall Rattan in 1833, they settled near where Paris, Texas is now located. The family moved to what is now Delta County in 1870. He was one of the organisers of Delta County and did much to aid its development, a prominent farmer stock raiser. He was an enthusiastic Free Mason.
