Notes
Individual:
She and her six children moved into their parent's house in 1914 when her
husban Ollie died. She remained there until her older brother, ElbertPlummer, who lived in Rockingham County, made financial arrangements forCora to buy a large rambling house in the little community of Buies Creekin Harnett County.

Buies Creek Academy, later Campbell University, was located at Buies Creek and directly across the road from her new home. Cora turned thelarge old house into a rooming and boarding house for students and tookin sewing.

She managed to raise and educate all six children to include college degrees. Over the years, her home became a campus landmark. It is nowowned by Campbell University and is affectionately referred to by facultyand students as "Hight House."
