Individual:
1800 Wake Co., NC census: 2 m 16-26, 2 f 16-26 and 1 f over 45. There are other Caswell Powell men on the 1850 thru 1870 Wake Co., NC census.
In the office of Clerk of Court, Divisions of Lands, etc: To the worshipful Wake County Court The petition of Caswell & Jesse Powell showeth to your worship that they are Tenants in Common of a certain Tract of Land lying on Neuse River whereon Pleasant Powell your petitioner's mother now resides, containing 900 & 50 acres by Estimation your petioners pray that the proper process may issue & that a Division may be made between your petitioners agreeable to Law. Signed by attorney W. Seawell. In May of 1801 the division of his dec'd father's land was made and Caswell received 562ac on the south side of Nuce (sic) River.
08 Jan 1814 is actually the date of his will on file in Wake Co., NC. His sons received his land in Wake Co., NC and his daughters, his land in TN on the Duck River.
