Although his life appeared full of hardships from his early beginnings (see related story on his mother), James Arthur Castleman, crippled with arthiritus at an early age, managed to live a quality life. He wa a strong, kind man who always enjoyed working with his only son, James Edward, in raising Charlais cattle and their shared work at their lumber yard.
