Obituary
Elva Belle Reese, daughter of John and Elizabeth Dodson, was born May 22,1895, and departed this life October 4,1968, at the age of 73 years, 4 months and 12 days.
She was united in marriage to Jess Reese Jan. 5,1913. To this union was born one son and five daughters.
She was converted at an early age and joined the Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Jess; one son, Everett of Kansas City; and five daughters, Mrs. Willie Muse, El Cajon, Calif., Mrs. Ruby Vestal, Niangua, Mrs. Letha Lowery, Marshfield; Mrs. Verna Alexander, Joplin, Mrs. Bonnie Schulz, Springfield; two brothers, William Dodson, Niangua, Arthur Dodson, Springfield; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
A dear one is taken from our home,The voice we loved is stilled, A place is vacant in our hearts, Which never can be filled.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct 6, at 2 p.m. in the Macedonia Church with Rev. Selph Jones officiating. Duet by Margart Wantland and Opal Hyde with Mrs. Selph Jones, pianist. A solo by Rev. Selph Jones. Burial was in the Prospect Cemetery.

After Long Illness
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church for Mrs. Eva Belle Reese, 73, who died in her home at Niangua at 1:55 a.m. Friday after a lingering illness. The Rev. Selph Jones officiating with burial in Prospect Cemetery under the direction of Barber-Edwards, Marshfield.
Surviving are her husband, Jess; a son, Everett, Kansas City; five daughters, Mrs. Willie Muse, El Cajon, Calif., Mrs. Ruby Vestal, Niangua, Mrs. Letha Lowery, Marshfield, Mrs. Verna Alexander, Joplin, and Mrs. Bonnie Schultz, Springfield; two brothers, William Dodson, Niangua, and Arthur, Springfield; 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Escorts were Larry Vestal, Ronald Lowery, Rickie Reese, Dean Alexander, Darrel Alexander, Tommy Mathis, and Bob Atkison.
Music was by Rev. Selph Jones, soloist, Opal Hyde and Margaret Wantland, duet, with Mrs. Selph Jones at the piano.
