Individual:
JACOB PESTERFIELD, LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT
I, JACOB PESTERFIELD, of the County of Monroe and State of Tennessee,being of sound mind an d disposing memory and advanced in years, andmindful of the uncertainty of liFe and the certainty of death, do makeand publish this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all formerwills by me heretofore made and making the same void and of no effect.
ITEM 1
I give my Soul to God who gave it, and my body to be buried in a plain,decent, Christian buri al.
ITEM 2
I desire and direct my Executors as soon after my death as possible topay all my just debts , if I owe any and my funeral expenses out of thefirst money that may come into their hands as such executors.
ITEM 3
Having heretofore given and made advancement to my older children to wit;CAROLINE MASON, WILL IAM PESTERFIELD, JOHN PESTERFIELD, ELIZABETH RAGSDALEin value and amount sufficient as I estimate the same to be an equitableand equal share of my estate which makes them equal shared of my estate,which makes them equal in the division of the remainder of my estate tomy youngest children.
ITEM 4
I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, SARAH PESTERFIELD, during hernatural life or widowhoo d, and my children JACOB PESTERFIELD, ELIZBETHPESTERFIELD, GEORGE PESTERFIELD, SUSAN PESTERFIELD, AND JOHN PESTERFIELD,(who is also mentioned with my older children) all my real and personalestate to have and control the same until the youngest child arrives atthe age of twenty one years. My son, John, is to share equally with myyoungest children only upon condition that he remain with my wife andchildren on the farm, manage and contract the same for the raising andmaintenance of my children until my youngest child arrives of age; and atthe marriage or death of my wife, if my son John should not remain totake care of my children I desire all my property both real and personalto be sold and the proceeds equally divided among my children there namedto wit: JACOB, ELIZA, GEORGE AND SUSAN. But the sale of my personal andreal estate is not to be made if my son John remains and conduct andmanage the farm for the benefit of my children; or until my youngestchild arrives of age. If any of my children above named should die beforethey attain the age of twenty one years or if any should die withoutissue the share of the deceased shall go to the surviving brothers andsisters.
ITEM 5
I hereby nominate and appoint my son, JOHN PESTERFIELD and JOSEPH A. PECKexecutors of this m y last Will and Testament.

CODICIL
The within instrument is my last Will and Testament made and executed inaccord with my wishe s with the Exception of the appointment of one of myexecutors. My desire is that M. G. WRIGHT act as my Executor instead ofJOSEPH A. PECK and that Joseph A. Peck is hereby relieved from saidduties.

The within instrument is my last Will and Testament made and executed inaccord with my wishe s with a few changes. I desire to make this the 14thof November 1891.
That my son, JOHN PESTERFIELD, be paid out of my son, J. J. PESTERFIELD'Spart of my estate $1 60.00 one hundred and sixty dollars provided my sonJACOB does not show receipts from my son JOHN for the amount abovementioned.
SECOND
I also give to my son JACOB J. more than his share one mule, which Ivalue at $125.00 one hund red and twenty five dollars, which I desire tobe taken out of JACOB J'S part of the estate after John gets his $160.00and the remainder divided equally among the rest of my children.
