IV. ASA GROSVENOR, born at Pomfret, conn., Apr. 6, 1745; died at Reading, Mass., Sept. 25, 1834. Served in the Revolutionary War; removed to Reading after 1810. Married at Sutton, Mass., Apr. 24, 1766, Hannah Hall, daughter of Rev. David and Elizabeth (Prescott) Hall. She was born at Sutton, Aug. 30, 1740; died Mar. 16 1834. Children born at Pomfret: - Aaron (1767- ); Hannah(1769-1843); Asa (1772-1772); Lucy (1773- ); Asa 1776- ); Ebenezer Hall (1778-1854); Betsey (1782-1836); David Augustus (1784- ). From the notes of Horace Chipman Grosvenor, my grandfather, and Oliver Gay Grosvenor about 1930's-1940's. Windham Co. Conn. 1790 censes - 1 free white male> 16, 3 free white males< 16, 6 free white females. Asa was placed on the pension roll of Middlesex Co., Mass.1833 for service as captain, Conn. State troops.
