In the 1900 Census for Franklin County, North Carolina Kellon is listed as Ke lean G. Gupton the writing is very hard to read and may be a mistake.

Following is the actual obituary notice for Lydia Kellon Gupton Joyner copied from the Franklin Times of September 1919. Sent to me by the Franklin Co., Library in Louisburg, NC Lydia was the daughter of Cornelius (Neece) E. Gupton and Cornelia Collins Gupton of Sandy Creek, Franklin Co., NC Lydia Kellon Gupton Joyner was the wife of Jordan Byron Joyner.

Who has been on a visit to her father.
Mr. C. E. Gupton, near Sandy Creek,
for some time. passed into the great
beyond on last Saturday. Her remains
were laid to rest Sunday in the
family burying ground. near by In the
presence of a large number of relatives
and friends, Rev. J.H. Harper
conducting the services. Mrs. Joyner
was an estimable Christian woman
and besides her husband and family
consisting of four children she leaves
hosts of friends .
The bereaved family has the sympathy
of the entire community .
