Captured at age 7 by the indians during the revolutionary war and remo ved to Montreal and held until end of the war.
Uncle Philip Empie was with Conrad when he was captured by indians. Ph ilip loosened his bonds enough to get his jackknife and free himself d uring the 1st night but Conrad was sleeping too soundly to free.

Lived and died in Livingston County Michigan, Surrounded by all of hi s children except John Conrad who stayed in Chautauqua County, N.Y.
