Notes 
Individual:
Ransom Austin was born in 1854. He was the fifth of eight children born to George Austin and his second wife, Martha Rose. Birth recorded in Austin family Bible. LWC has a copy of transcript.

In 1876 he married Martha Luce, daughter of Thomas M and Laura Case Luce. They were married in Dicksonburg, Crawford Co PA which is just across the state line from Ashtabula Co OH where Ransom's mother, Martha, had moved with her children after George died in Warren, OH in 1860.

Ransom and Martha had five children, 3 boys and 2 girls. According to the 1900 Census the family was living in Richmond Township, Ashtabula Co OH Supervisors District #18 Enumeration District #36 Sheet #9. Ransom was a farmer and his farm is listed as part of the Farm Schedule as #145.

Martha died in 1928 and Ransom in 1932. Ransom Austin and Martha Luce Austin are buried in Pierpont Cemetery located in Pierpont, OH. CEMETERY RECORDS OF ASHTABULA COUNTY OHIO Ashtabula County Public Library Jefferson, OH Lois Cody visited the gravesite in 1995.
