Charlie contracted pneumonia in April 1997 and it got progressively worse until he was taken to the hospital in May 1997. He was in the hospital for three to four weeks without his health improving. He passed away on June 9th, 1997. The funeral service was at White's Funeral Home in Bellflower, California. He was buried in Little Lake Cemetery in Sante Fe Springs, California. His age at death was 89 years, 7 months and 1 day.
