Individual:
My gggrandfather was Absalom Ware from McMinnville, TN born circa 1830. He had siblings: Will
iam, Tempa, Roland, Arminda. In 1850 they lived in the household of Absalom and Almira Clark in Warren Co. TN. Absalom married Drucilla Stiles, daughter of Maria Stiles, from Warren Co. TN. They had sons: Henry Horace (my great-grandfather) Leighton Ferrell, William Edward ,George Washington, and Charles Thomas. All are buried in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Horace married Elizabeth Brown daughter of Jackson and Lucy Brown from Prentiss Co. Mississippi. They had 2 sons: Henry Roscoe( my grandfather) Homer Oliver and 2 daughters: Lillie Mae and Johnie Weldon. Absalom's father's name is not known. If anyone has any information of Wares from Warren Co. TN and especially from McMinnville, TN please contact me. I have his civil war records. He fought for the Union and for the Confederacy. I have a 93 year old uncle who is still living. He told me that this was a source of great shame in our family. He said that his father, Horace Ware who was Absalom's son, forbade any family members from even mentioning his name and from ever returning to McMinnville, TN. This is perhaps why I can not trace my Ware family history past Absalom. Maybe there is a Tennessee cousin who has heard of this outlaw Ware named Absalom that will share their information with me.
