Subject: [CherokeeGeneCommunity] George Washington Fields
The only tidbit of info I have on G.W. Fields is that he is buried in Snell
Cemetery in Delaware County, Oklahoma. I was taken by a distant cousin to
the cemetery but no way could I ever find it again. I do know that it is
located southwest of the old Fields homeplace.

George Washington Fields who was born May 1 1838 in Cherokee Nation, Delaware
Dist., OK was married 3 times. I do not have a marriage date for Mary
Malvina Weir and George. He died Oct. 20, 1914. I do not have a place yet.
The other two wives were Elizabeth Silversmith and Sarah McGhee. I believe
Elizabeth was the first wife, Mary the second, and Sarah the third.
His children from this marriage that I have found are: William Webster Fields
(My line) born Aug 18, 1858 in Delaware Dist., Cherokee Nation, OK.
Albert Fields born Oct. 1870 who married Elizabeth Addiline Parrott
and Martha J. Fields who married Richard Fitzgerald.

I did a lookup on www.topozone.com for Snell Cemetery in Delaware Co. OK. It
is located southeast of Grove, kind of in the boonies. Go to topozone and you
can see the map. This topozone is excellent for research. Good luck. Steve

G. W. Fields isn't listed as being buried at Snell, however, Betty
Silversmith Fields and Sarah McGhee Fields are. There is a G.W. Fields
buried at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Delaware Co., but he is the wrong one.
