Notes
Individual:
Pinkney Carl Tucker was a Confederate veteran of the Civil War having enlisted
at Camp McRae on 27/Jul/1861. He was a Private in Co. F, 2nd Reg., of the
Arkansas Mounted Rifles. This was an outfit made up of Clark County,Arkansas
men. He was discharged on 8/Feb/1862 because of disability,at Fort Smith,
Arkansas. On his dishcharge, it says his disability was caused by "chronic
rheumatism" but we suspect it was arthritis since many Tuckers have arthritis.
There is a discription of Pinlney Carl Tucker on his military papers. He was
"Thirty years of age, 5'8" in height, dark complexion, blue eyes, dark hair,
slight build and occupation at time of enlistment was farmer." Being 30 years
of age at time of discharge means he was born in January or early Febuary since
the 1850 and 1860 U.S.Census indicates he was born in 1832 in McNairy
County,Tennesse.
