1. Servesd as a patriot in the Revolutionary War
John Puryear Sr., born abt 1715 in Mecklenburg Co., VA was married to Martha Norment. Their daughter Rebecca Puryear married Capt. John Farrar (1738 - 1808). Both John Puryear and John Farrar have been used as ancestors to join the Daughters of the American Revolution.
