"In 1635, Robert Chambers, in company of others, left his home near Stirling, Scotland and settled at Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Later he returned to Scotland. He is supposed to be the ancestor of many other Americans of the Chambers name. The fact that his home was near Stirling identifies him as being of Scottish lineage."
