Nickname: Zeb
He was the son of Joseph Linder and Abigail Hayden.
He was bequeathed land in Belmont County Ohio by the will of his maternal grandfather Nathaniel Hayden (23 September 1845). The will was filed by Nathaniel Hayden of Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania and recorded in Westmoreland County Willbook 3, Page 3. Witnessed by Jos. Van Kirk,Jr and George McClure.
He married Susannah Elizabeth Hoopes in Ohio in 1854. They lived in Belmont CoOhio 1860; then Greenfield, Green Co Illinois 1870; then Middle Fork Ringgold Co Iowa 1880; before settling in Reno County, Kansas near Hutchinson. The couple moved to Oklahoma Territory prior to 1897 and Susannah died there in 1897.
In 1900 Zerah bought 1/4 of 24-25-14 and on November 23, 1903 he bought NE1/4 of 4-23-13. When he died intestate in July 1908 he did not own either of these properties. Thomas Felix Linder and wife Mary filed for boarding Zerah in the amount of $1044 and daughter Isabelle filed for boarding him in the amount of $195. Both claims were refused.
Zerah and Susannah are both buried in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Aline, Oklahoma. Joint marker still exists.
