Individual:
Following 35 years service with the Ohio Air National Guard and US Air Force, retired in grade of Colonel in the office of the Secretary of the Air Force on 1 March 1985. Turned to his hobby of genealogy research in 1988. The story of my success in my flying career is almost a "Horatio Alger" kind of tale. Where I succeeded in a flying career, and my uncle John did learn to fly (I started with him), my father, who could taste and smell flying, never was able to achieve it. I have always thought of trying to find a way to dedicate my flying career to them both. I could never have done it without them.
General Note on Source Data:
I hereby give exclusive credit for all early members of the Weidinger family, especially those in Bavaria before 1860, to Mrs. Margot Weschung, a professional Genealogy Researcher, who lives in Lauf, a suburb of the city of Nuremberg, Germany. As of February 1999, Margot has provided no less than five major studies, taking our work back to the year 1570. She plans future research in the village of Hetzendorf, where she may well take the family back to the early 16th century or more.
