Notes
Individual:
HENRY V, son of HENRY IV and MARY DE BOHUN

Ruled 1413-1422; presided over the privy council during his father's illness.
As prince of Wales (Shakespere's "Prince Hal"), he led armies against Owen
Glendower and figured largely inthe victory over the Percy. The early years
of his reign were troubled by the rebellion of the Lollards. Determined to
regain lands he believed to be his, he invaded France in 1415, thus reopening
the Hundred Years War. After announcing his claim to the French throne, he
met and defeated a superior French force at the famous battle of Agincourt.
By 1420 he had conquered Normandy, married Catherine of Valois, and persuaded
her father, Charles VI of France to name him his successor. He fell ill and
died in 1422. As king he ruled with justice and industry, restoring civil
order and the national spirit. Though his wars left the crown in debt, his
charm, military genius, and care for his less fortunate subjects made him a
popular hero. - Encyclopedia, p. 374 Victor of Agincourt - RULERS.ENG (Compuserve); Plantagenet - COMYNX.ARC (Compu serve), #1801
