Bar Fight, Gun shot
In 1869, at Jacks Creek, Tennessee, Jason Greer Holmes was in a saloon, and in a dispute with a Mr. Edwards, threw his drink in Mr. Edwards face. Mr. Edwards propmtly picked up his gun and before Jason could get his that was by the door, and fire accurately, he had been shot and killed. When Marena and his oldest son, James arrived from Cabo, in the wagon, Jason was propped up against a tree behind the saloon.

DETAILS AS THE STORY HAPPENED:
There was a saloon in Jacks Creek, Tennessee. Jason Greer Holmes and a Mr. Edwards had been having some trouble. Jason went into the saloon; he had his shot gun and when he went in he set his gun down by the door. In the meantime he and Mr. Edwards had a few more words. Jason started to leave and as he did he picked up his gun and then Mr. Edwards shot him in the chest. Jason shot back at Mr. Edwards. then Jason went out the back door of the saloon. A big tree was right out side. Jason backed up against the tree and then he slid down and died. The cemetery where he is buried is not far from the saloon. The cemetery was Record Cemetery, now it is also called Cabo Cemetery.

Both Jason and Marena are buried at Cabo Cemetery. This is a very old cemetery, but well kept.
